Creating your Creative Self
I’ve done some reflecting about being a creative. I’ve sat with it and reminisced how it has shaped me as I carry on discovering my path in this crazy mixed up world we live in.
There was that time when I was in a place where countless thoughts spun in my head, and in my heart, in a way that froze my future. I couldn’t find a place to set my foot down in a position where my next step would lead me to what I was supposed do.
My journey had many devastating roadblocks and detours and I was beaten up and held captive in that damaging thought. I fell, over and over again not knowing what to do or how to do it. Yet as time passed, each of my experiences made me stronger. The damaging thoughts ceased. I discovered my creative self. I learned that by holding hands with each of my strengths and desires, what happened to me became the best thing that ever happened to me. Because of this, I wrote my book.
My life handed me a canvas on which to paint my journey. It’s not complete because my journey is never-ending, I’m not done yet. I keep on creating my journey and I’ve discovered I am one of many magnificent colors. I’ve used my imagination and curiosity to add to my painting. I’ve gathered the courage to forge on and took a lot of risks to get where I am now.
We can all discover our colors, shapes, words, and guiding roads along our way. These blend as one to create our creative self. As our travels through this world take place, the life we create is painted upon a canvas. One stroke at a time.
No one knows what their future will bring, or what their final form in life will be. I don’t think we are supposed to know. But I believe the journey itself is the form and we get to mold it in any way we want.
We tell stories, they are all part of us, they are all part of our journey, and they all hold hands with each other. Gather them, hold them tight, and go where your spirit leads you, one brush stroke at a time.
Happy New Year my friends. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
